Nagaland Singing Ambassador (NSA) organized in March 2011 by a group of singers who are passionately dedicated to choral art mesmerized the packed IMC hall at Dimapur on Saturday.
An evening of choral music by Nagaland Singing Ambassador started with James Swu’s astounding Naga choral composition belting out songs like the popular song ‘Circle of life’ from the musical Lion King and the amazingly remixed Hindi song ‘Lakhon hain yahan dilwale’ from the film Kismat leaving the older ones with a sense of nostalgia.
Without any musical accompaniment, except the ‘Bamhum’ played by composer and conductor Lipokmar Tzudir or the occasional drum and piano, the choir produced musical sounds with their voice.
With the mission to congregate, share ideas and render performances and music education to Churches and communities in the northeast and beyond, the Nagaland Singing Ambassador Saturday, ended the evening with the song ‘I will be here’.
Conductor and composer Lipokmar Tzudir who holds the distinction of being the first Indian to be awarded the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi’s ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ in 2006 in the field of choral music, concluded saying “All talents are inspirations from God” and asked everyone to believe in God and His will.
The evening was attended by dignitaries like Rev. Dr. Wati Aier and his wife, director NEZCC Som Kamei and family, celebrated musician Nise Meruno and other dignitaries, special invitees, and various public leaders.
The patrons for the evening were Vilelie Khamo, Hewoto Awomi MLA, R. Khing parliamentary secretary Horticulture and Cooperation, Hoto Yeptho, Megolelhu Krose, Dr. Kezevituo Angami and Rokolhou Angami.
