Describing Reconciliation as a process which was not an end but a means towards wholeness, FNR in a statement asserted that for Nagas it meant securing their historical and political rights through non-violence and understanding.
Making a statement against the backdrop of resurgence of factionalism, FNR reminded all political groups that each of them were part of the Naga jigsaw puzzle to contribute in putting together the wholeness of the Naga jigsaw puzzle.
FNR said increasing tension between Naga political groups amidst the fluidity of the present situation in which the groups were addressing their differences, had raised serious worry among the common man and woman.
It also reminded that Nagas had time and again asserted reconciliation as a social and political necessity as they understood the differences between Naga political groups.
FNR said though differences were unfortunate, yet they were not insurmountable and believed that differences could and must be resolved, through the support of people and wisdom of political leaders.
It cautioned, that if differences prevailed, it would jeopardize Naga historical and political rights.
FNR renewed its appeal to all Naga political groups to cease provocation and urged political leaders to prevent violence in any form and resolve differences in a democratic and peaceful manner, let reconciliation process was endangered.
It urged upon all signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR) to respect the aspirations of Nagas as contained in the CoR and not to destroy the “hard earned progress” made since 2008.
