Unions resent regularization of govt primary teachers

KSU: Kyong Students Union (KSU) has expressed dissatisfaction to the directorate and state government for retention and regularization of government primary teachers under DEO/DIS Wokha.
The union alleged that 1 among the 81 non-Lotha primary teachers listed in the order was serving in Wokha district and that the question of retention/regularization does not arise. Claiming the confirmation received from DEO and DIS Wokha that the listed teachers do not serve in Wokha district, KSU expressed that the joining report of 81 primary teachers (non-Lothas) who were regularized could not be entertained as it was a “direct violation” of education guidelines for appointment of primary teachers in government schools to conform to linguistic jurisdiction on criteria.
While appealing the DEO and DIS Wokha not to allow the newly appointed primary teachers to join their respective schools of posting, KSU president, Subenthung Kithan and general secretary, Amos Odyuo stated that subsequent appointment should be made against the mentioned post in the existing schools and expressed concern over the posting of primary teachers in non-existing schools/villages.
ZSU: Zeliang Students Union (ZSU) Nagaland in its emergency meeting on July 20, resolved to out rightly reject the appointment and posting of teachers in schools of various villages under Peren district by school department under SSA plan. ZSU president Iteichui Zeliang directed that no village authority or VEC should accept the joining report of the appointed teachers under no circumstances. It also informed that a joint meeting of ZSU with all chairmen of village councils and the village education committee would be held on July 26, 11am at Town Hall Peren.
ENSF: The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has notified all its federating units’ not to accept any new joining report pertaining to the recent retention and regularization of both GT’s and PT’s deployed within the Eastern Nagaland jurisdiction.
ENSF vice president Likhumse Sangtam, and general secretary Changsang reminded its federating units  as well as district education officers’ (DEO’s), deputy inspector of school’s (DIS’s), headmaster’s and teacher in-charges of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Longleng and all VEC’s, WEC’s, V.C’s, of the villages of Eastern Nagaland, that the retention and regularization was against the new teachers’ recruitment policy of the state government as well as the relaxation policy in favour of the 6 tribes of Eastern Nagaland.
ENSF revealed the new policy is connected to thousands of teachers’ transferred out along-with posts from Eastern Nagaland jurisdiction in the past many years, which has resulted in shortage of teachers in the schools of eastern Nagaland districts’. ENSF warned authority (s) accepting joining report in this connection would be doing at their own risk, adding the notification was for the strict compliance of the above mentioned authorities until further notice.
CSU, PSU:  Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) and Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) in a press statement directed VCCs, VEC chairman, school managing board, head of the institutions under Phek district to restraint from recommending any teachers under their jurisdiction in regard to retention and regularization of teachers.
The statement jointly appended by CSU president Esther Rhakho and PSU president Vikuolie Janry directed the mentioned authorities to do away with the recommending of teachers from their jurisdiction till further notice. Failing to comply with the directives shall be severely dealt with, the release added.
