Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) was conducted on Saturday at Dimapur and Kohima. Out of 5000 seats allotted to Dimapur district 4071 candidates turned up for the exam at five different centres.
In Dimapur district, Government College was allotted with 1300 seats which had a turn up of 1034 candidates, Christian higher secondary school was allotted 1200 seats which had a turn up of 984 candidates, Greenwood higher secondary school was allotted 850 which had a turn up of 701 candidates and Livingstone higher secondary school was allotted 750 seats which had a turn up of 612 candidates.
Speaking to Nagaland Post through phone Dellirose Sakhrie secretary NPSC said that the examination was held peacefully at all the centers without any complain from the examinees.
Earlier, K. Nakhro deputy secretary NPSC visited all the five centres in Dimapur.
The centres were also allotted with NPSC officials and police personnel.
Meanwhile, in a email statement Sam Kath alleged the following errors in the NPSC 2011, preliminary examination:
In the Test Booklet Series no ‘A’, Q.No (40). Lionel Messi’s name was wrongly written as ‘Lionel Messy’.
In Q.No.114, option (C) was given as Baba Amte where as it should be ‘Baba Ramdev’.
In Q.No.163, the given question was Fakir Wildlife Sanctuary….. whereas it should be read as Fakim Wildlife Sanctuary.
Again in question No 183, the given question was, ‘Find the number of rectangles in the given figure, (may kindly refer the question figure in question paper)’, the options in the answer were given as (A) 13 (B) 14 (C) 15 (D) 16.
According to the question, none of the given option was correct. The correct answer should be ‘10’. Only 10 rectangles can be formed out of the given figure. As for this particular question, the commission should allot 1 (one) mark to all the candidates in fairness, Kath added.
Kath said urged the NPSC commission, being the highest recruiting body in the state to standardize the questions and should make it error free.
He said time factor matters in competitive exams and that such spelling errors can confuse the candidates.
