State home minister Imkong L. Imchen has disclosed that SP Peren has arrested two persons involved in the June 30 incident at Inavi village and efforts were on to trace and arrest the other remaining members of the group.
In a statement, Imchen asserted that the government was sincerely pursuing the matter and that both administration and police have already taken necessary steps to apprehend those involved in the incident
He also appealed to all the aggrieved parties to exercise restrain so as to allow the law in taking its own course of action.
He however regretted that the aggrieved parties involved in the dispute at Ntangki National Park, had rejected the Inquiry Committee set up by the state government, thereby making it difficult in filing any report.
In a statement, Imchen said unless the committee filed its report, it would become difficult for the government to take any action on the June 30 incident at Inavi village. Imchen said the state government had set up the high level inquiry committee following the “unfortunate incident” at Inavi on June 30 that resulted in the killing of two persons.
He stressed on the need to build up a healthy and cohesive Naga society where every citizen ought to rise above personal affiliation, loyalty and community perspective so as to eradicate “the evil of ism” through a collective effort.
He also expressed appreciation on the restrain so far exhibited by the affected communities and hoped it would set an example to the Nags nurturing a healthy Naga family.

Peren administration appeals for calm
Peren district administration has said it was doing its best to prevent escalation of “ill will” between communities in the ongoing Intangki National Park case and impressed upon both to exercise restraint, which remained it stated objective.
DC Pereen, Khrienuo C. Metha, in a release, said ordinary citizens look forward to a future of peace devoid of any kind of violence and hatred between communities.
She also said it would be the district adminstration’s resolve to act in a just manner without fear or favour and appealed to the representatives of both the community to abjure violence and desist from issuing ultimatums and give conciliation a chance. “We also appeal to both communities to maintain calm and peace and thereby support us in resolving the issue and restore peace,” said the DC Khrienuo.
