Social work at Chiechama village

Chiechama village of Kohima district held its annual mass social work on Saturday to maintain sanitation in and around village.
Hundreds of villagers from outside and within the village participated in the social work by cleaning respective surrounding areas, village circular roads, footsteps, community halls, drainage, and roadside of NH-61 which passes through the village.
The social work was carried out successfully under the supervision of village leaders led by the village council chairman, Mhalezolie Metha to oversee the cleanliness drive. Mhalezolie expressed satisfaction over the social work, and urged the villagers to cooperate even in the days to come and set an example to other villages.
Meanwhile, Chiechama village council expressed grief over the incident where passengers were stranded for two days without food on National Highway 61 near the village due to heavy landslide.
Meanwhile, expressing gratitude to those who helped the passengers at the time of trouble, the village council lamented over the untimely intervention of department in-charge.
Village council therefore urged the department to look the case seriously and mobilize 24 hours service at the site.
