In response to Angami Public Organisation (APO)’s ultimatum served on its chairman Sazo Zumvu, the Naga United Village Council (NUVC), Intanki Saturday clarified that Sazo Zumvu was “unanimously” elected by the public at its general meeting held September 28, 2010 to be council chairman, saying “therefore he is not a ‘self-styled’ chairman as alleged by the APO.”
The NUVC, Intanki also said it was firm on its stand that until and unless all the “so-called encroachers including Biesumpuikam village are evicted from the National Park,” the Naga united villagers would not vacate “at any cost.” “Why the government is not applying the same yardstick?” queried a joint statement issued by NUV secretary C.
