In commemoration of Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas-Renewable Energy Day on August 20, department of new renewable Energy (DNRE) government of Nagaland under the ministry of new & renewable energy (MNRE) would be organising a rally at 8 am till 9 am from Local Ground to The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow.
The rally would be followed by quiz and singing competition at the Heritage, Old DC Bungalow where minister for forest, environment, ecology & wildlife and excise, M.C. Konyak would grace the occasion as the chief guest.
The department informed that Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas is being observed every year in commemoration of the birth anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi the then Prime Minister of India, with a view to address the national problem on energy crisis, climate change and its mitigation through mass rallies, human chains/runs, competitions with the theme ‘Renewable Energy.’
