Inauguration of rental housing phase-II

Department of PWD (Housing) on Friday inaugurated the rental housing phase-II with Er. T. Saku Aier, parliamentary secretary PWD (housing) as the chief guest at the PWD Complex at Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Saku said it was a land mark and congratulated the department for implementing such a unique project which would enhance the state’s revenue.
He also opined that such other completed projects in Dimapur should have been inaugurated simultaneously.

While describing PWD department as the first amongst equals, he said one should not only remain confined with connectivity but should also look after people’s requirement for sheltered housing, and further thanked the chief minister Neiphiu Rio for clearing all the department’s projects and fulfilling the people’s objective.

While delivering the welcome speech, additional chief engineer, Chanbemo Lotha said many ongoing department projects have been kept on hold due to financial constraints but assured the department would take up more such projects under the leadership of Er. Saku.

While delivering the technical report, Er L Yezhekhu Sumi, chief engineer, PWD (Housing) said the rental housing phase-II Dimapur was constructed by M/S Thungchamo Lotha & Sons with a sanctioned project of `1 crore fifty lakhs with a revision in the scheduled rate at `73 lakhs due to rate enhancement.

He said the marginal investment was prepared as per scheduled rate of 2008, and that the new scheduled rate 2010 has been prepared by NPWD due to rise in inflation.
He also said that phase-II would be rented out to NU (SETAM) from September with a rent rate of `25, 292 per month.
