Close on the heels of the recent declaration for the formation of a ‘Naga National Government’ by the six leaders of three Naga groups, the NSCN(K) said ongoing Naga unification and reconciliation process was translated into reality due to the positive response of Naga leaders and constant mediation of the FNR.
NSCN(K) said the latest efforts of Rev. Dr. Wati Aier-led FNR in facilitating formation of the ‘Naga National Government’ through mutually agreed amalgamation of “NNC/FGN, Khehoi Camp and IM” after hectic parleys was worth appreciating. NSCN (K) said as a party to the FNR’s Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR), which it was committed to as signed by its leader S.S. Khaplang along with Isak Swu and Singnya, it welcomed the “FNR’s creativity and wisdom” that enabled erstwhile conflicting groups,not only to forgive and accept each, other but also pave way for constitution of one “national government by combining the three groups”.
It said though NSCN (K) led by Khaplang was not invited to recent meetings, it still sincerely wished that the efforts would lead to peaceful and positive outcomes. NSCN (K) also said though it ardently advocated peace and unity among various Naga political groups “struggling for self determination of the Nagas” it was consistent with its stand that peace and unity should precede political dialogue with India.
Lauding the FNR led by Rev. Dr. Wati Aier, for succeeding in bringing about an end to cessation of hostilities, killings and bloodshed among Naga national workers, NSCN(K) said that as “an inalienable partner” of the peace venture, it was committed to “active collaboration” towards any endevour that intended to promote fraternity, peace and reconciliation.
NSCN (K) further said the faith and confidence reposed on it by the Nagas would continue to be its political road map and political compass for any future endeavor. In the light of high expectations for rich dividends at the hour, NSCN (K) however appealed to Nagas to be wary of “subtle anti-Naga conspiracies getting entrenched through various shades and colors and perhaps in the garb of Bible preaching peace and reconciliation banners”.
