NSCN (K) while denouncing the “provocative firing” at Kohima on September 19, 2011 has said it would initiate appropriate inquiry to “unearth the malignant intention” of those responsible for “comments against the NSCN/GPRN”.

The MIP/NSCN (K) was referring to media reports where the Nagaland Home Minister had quoted Nagaland Police to link the deceased ex-pastor killed during a shoot out, as an NSCN (K) activist. MIP demanded that both the Nagaland police and Home Minister should provide “genuine proof and concrete material proof” that the ex-pastor killed in the incident, was linked to the NSCN (K) in any way.

It asserted that at no point of time was the deceased ex-pastor ever connected or “enrolled in the NSCN/GPRN.” It warned that “befitting measures shall be initiated against those irresponsible individuals or departments” for the “unwarranted implication of NSCN/GPRN” in the incident.  The NSCN (K) further ventured in extending its cooperation to jointly investigate “the incident at any moment”.
