Union of Evangelical Students of India (UESI) Nagaland was inaugurated as a decentralized state unit by JSA. Julius President of National UESI during the 25th annual conference of Nagaland evangelical graduates fellowship (NEGF) with the theme “Sanctify yourself…. Josh. 3:5” which began on September 30 at Ao Baptist Church Lerie, Kohima.
JSA Julius said dedicatory prayer for all NEGF members of different districts of Nagaland. He encouraged members to be bold enough with holistic ministry and strive higher for God’s glory while reminding them not to work for fame, power or money but by fixing their mind for the Lord.
He also stressed about the importance of sanctification in one’s lives without which no one will see God. He said “God send obstacles in life with a purpose” and whoever overcome they received joy of Christ.
Julius encouraged all members to read Bible more as it is a guide book for the Christian life to know the right path and clear the confusion. “Watch God in all the directions and follow his footsteps with honour,” he added.
Sambour Hynniewta President UESI North East in his greetings encouraged UESI Nagaland to continue to shine, reach out and work for the Lord. He said that he is going to miss the good brothers and sisters from Nagaland after decentralized in the ministry but he was comforted that all work for the Lord.
Dr. M. Libanthung Ngullie President , UESI Nagaland in his presidential address said that the process of decentralization of UESI Nagaland began during 22nd annual conference, in the year 2008. It may be mentioned that UESI was a student movement working among post-matric students in the campus across the country. Its ministry started on September 18,1954 as an evangelical movement, with the word of God as its very foundation.
UESI ministry helps the students to find the meaning and purpose in their lives through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Evangelical Graduate Fellowship (EGF) members and staff workers serve students through their open homes and play a coach’s role in their lives.
The programme was chaired by Bokato Hesso, Prof. Tali Alinger proposed opening prayer, welcome song was presented by JCC choir, special presentation was taken by Lanu Tzudir, State secy. and closing prayer was pronounced by Rev. Malsawma Vanchhawng. UESI Nagaland unit is located near PWD junction in Kohima.
