All the women political leaders have reportedly declared their unanimous support towards implementation 33% women Reservation as per the Nagaland Municipal Amendment Act 2006.
It was declared at a consultation meeting convened Saturday by Joint Action Committee on Women Reservation (JACWR), comprising of representatives of the NMA, ENWO, Watsu Mungdang, NWHD with women leaders from different political parties.
The meeting chaired by JACWR Convenor Abei-u Meru NMA president, seriously deliberated on the issue of women reservation in municipalities in Nagaland.
A statement issued by JACWR said members present resolved to work with commitment towards women empowerment in the greater interest of Naga women, irrespective of party affiliations.
