A consultation on children infected and affected by HIV & AIDS was organized by Naga Network of People Living with HIV & AIDS (NNP+) in collaboration with District Level Network (DLN), supported by Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR) at Nagi Guest House, on Monday.
Coinciding with Children’s Day, NNP+ wanted to draw attention to concerns and problems faced by them and to recommend immediate action.
It may be mentioned that the NNP+ has been set up in 9 districts with 7 members from each district and other board members.
The interaction between the organizations and the media was mainly focused on children living with HIV & AIDS and was developed exclusively for affected and infected children.
The state coordinator for CFAR led the discussion and helped out NNP+ and the media recognize the many problems faced by children living with HIV & AIDS in terms of health, education, social security and the counseling that is required for these children.
Much light was shed on gaining immediate attention and response from various departments of the government and civil society organizations to get access to certain schemes to help affected and infected children.
