More than 30 shops in Kiphire town were caught selling expiry goods and banned ‘gutka’ products during a surprise checking conducted by the volunteers of Kiphire Town Students’ Union (KTSU) in and around Kiphire town Saturday.
KTSU disclosed that learnt that many shops in Kiphire town were still selling illegal expiry goods and harmful ‘gutkas’ and many people were ignorant about the price tag while shopping.
The union cautioned the public to be careful while buying things in the shops and requested denizens of Kiphire to inform KTSU official if any shops were found selling banned items. The union further cautioned all the shopkeepers in Kiphire that such surprise checking would be conducted at any time.
