Reacting to MIP, GPRN/NSCN statement that accused them of “actively propagating” against Khole Konyak and GPRN/NSCN with “preposterous claims”, the ENPO steering committee convenor Pohwang Konyak and Konyak Union (KU) president S.Khoiwang Wangsha Tuesday said they have been “character assassinated and blamed is because of sheer animosity and personal intolerance.”
Responding to MIP allegations that they wrote to S.S. Khaplang for Khango’s appointment and that they were responsible for the attack in C-in-C Kholi’s camp, Pohwang Konyak and S.Khoiwang Wangsha, in a joint statement, termed the allegations as “blatant lies”. The two leaders said they “never wrote or said to anyone” regarding the appointment of Khango as NSCN (K) vice chairman, adding that “we do not know about the attack on C-in-C Kholi’s camp.”
Maintaining that “wild allegations” against them were “baseless and God and the people will never accept those baseless allegations,” the signatories said even now they were are working and waiting for peace among all. “But with so much hatred and animosity how and who will bring peace,” they said, and asked the MIP to produce the so called documents before God and the Naga people if the allegations were true.
“The various Naga underground governments are not under our rule and it is preposterous to allege so,” they remarked.Stating that they were “mere public leaders”, the two leaders said asserted “how Khaplang, Khitovi, and Kholi factions came about till date we are in the dark.” Recalling that on June 6, 2011 the Konyak union leaders and Konyak region C-in-C Kholi had a meeting at Wangti village, the signatories said that day at the meeting there was no talk or hint of forming/separating into different factions.
