Government middle school, Khonoma Village was upgraded to government high school on February 7. T. Imkonglemba, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, School Education and SCERT, inaugurated the new high school.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the chief guest said that people of Khonoma had produced leaders in various fields in the past and expressed hope that the new high school would help produce even more leaders, administrators, social workers etc.
Expressing government’s support, Imkonglemba stated that expansion work would begin from the coming financial year.
Imkonglemba was accompanied by Chingmak Chang, additional secretary and mission director of SSA, VL Meyase, additional director of school education and R. Metha, DEO, Kohima. District administration officials also attended the programme.
