Department of agriculture would be issuing power tillers, pump sets, chain saws, brush cutters (reapers) etc. to progressive farmers at subsidized rate.
The power tillers such as Greaves (14.6 hp), Cato (9.0hp) and pump sets (Greaves, Honda) and chain saws, brush cutter of STIHL would be made available.
Limited number of CATO power tillers (9 hp) with trailer attachment and self starter suitable for hilly terraces would also be available.
Deputy Director (farm machineries) Z. Howoto Sumi in a press release informed farmers to collect the formants from the directorate of agriculture, Kohima, SDO (Store) agriculture Dimapur.
To ensure the machineries reach the deserving farmers, he said the identity of the applicant with necessary information and availability of farm land for use of the machineries would be certified by the village council chairman of the head GB of the village. DAOs and SDAOs would also identify the genuineness of the beneficiaries and land availability countersign in the format.
