Following Kohima Village Youth Organization’s (KVYO) decision to ‘ban’ All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Kohima unit on June 1, there has been pressure from different district units to call for a “chakka bandh” and ANTA has warned that the state government would be held responsible for the situation.

Stating that the association was facing pressures from “many tribes for a chakka bandh”, one of the ANTA officials while addressing the media late Saturday evening at Hotel Japfu said that if the administration was prompt in their action, this turn of event would not have happened.

The ongoing tussle between KVYO and ANTA seemed to be heading for a deadlock though the former preferred the intervention of district administration.

ANTA Kohima unit as one of the oldest founding members of the association strongly rejected KVYO’s initiative in formation of a new Kohima district taxi association terming it as going against the constitution of ANTA. ANTA president V Miachio stated this while addressing the media Saturday evening.
