Plea for proper weighing scale

Fair Price Shop Union (FPSU), Kohima, while thanking the department of food and civil supplies and the government for regular distribution of APL, BPL and AAY under PDS has highlighted the problems faced by fair price shops and grievances of public due to non-installation of weighting-bridge machine at Kohima.

Union president, Z. Kire while speaking at the distribution site of Khriekehetuo’s fair price shop on June 5 at Seikhazou, D. Khel, Kohima village, said due to non installation of weighing bridge machine, the Kohima based office are enable to carry out measuring the weight of every bag to the FPS which the beneficiaries were receiving lesser quantities of essential commodities as they are sold in loose.

As such, for proper distribution of the essential commodities to the public, the union has appealed to the state government to look into the matter seriously and give approval for immediate installation of a weighing bridge machine at Kohima for the benefit of the public.

It may be mentioned that under PDS, department of food and civil supplies is distributing essential commodities including rice, sugar, wheat etc. to the public at minimum cost.
