Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed serious concern that NPF-led DAN government, which was meant to be the government of the people of entire state, was instead governing the state with the “sheer policy of self-aggrandizement.”
In a statement, NPCC vice president Khuosatho and general secretary Aheto Yepthomi said NPF track record of nine years in power only yielded the maxim “making hay while the sun shine”.
In brief, NPCC said DAN government was a “factory that churns out money in lakhs and crores for themselves.”
NPCC said special development fund (SDF), which was meant to be judiciously disbursed to the need based people for meaningful results, was being diverted to programme in chief minister’s residence or construction of fishery pond in term of lakhs and crores of rupees for their own selfish benefits.
Therefore, NPCC said SDF has become “a despicable scheme” in Nagaland because devoid of its basic objective, the NPF government allocated a whopping sum of Rs. 1000 lakh (2011-2012) and given to NPF leaders and people who were having “close proximity with the high ups like hot cakes.”
NPCC said SDF list of beneficiaries, obtained by it from planning department through RTI program, was self-explanatory. NPCC sought to leave the matter to the public to form their own judgment as to whether NPF government was working for the welfare of the needy or filling their own pockets including that of their near and dear ones.
