Four labourers (non locals) were knocked down by a vehicle Saturday at around 8 p.m. killing two on the spot while the other two received serious injuries near SM College, Duncan Basti here. The vehicle reportedly sped away after knocking down the labourers.
According to police sources, the labourers were returning home after work at the time of the incident. However, the whereabouts of the vehicle could not be ascertained.
The two injured were admitted at Dimapur hospital, while bodies, which were yet to be identified, have been kept at district Hospital morgue.
