The 19th general conference of Nagaland secretariat drivers’ union (NSDU) cum farewell for union’s pensioner was held at Red Cross conference hall Kohima on Saturday.
Exhorting the gathering, Temjenwati joint secretary and TO transport and communication department said drivers carry precious lives and need to be careful and dutiful. He advised the drivers to be responsible and sincere while discharging their duties, and discouraged them from drinking while on duty to avoid mishaps. He also pointed out three important points that a driver should possess i.e. punctuality, discipline and obedience.
Earlier, Chekropra Chakhesang read the scripture and proposed the invocation prayer. The programme was led by Jacob Rengma president NSDU, welcome address by A. Inavi Chishi finance secretary NSDU, report from general secretary and audit committee, vote of thanks by Haoshi Konyak joint secretary NSDU. It may be mentioned that NSDU has 319 registered members and its general conference is conducted annually.
