NACF: Niuland Area Citizens’ Forum (NACF) has condemned the brutal assault on Issac Yepthomi by Mahila (IR) and JCO of the patrolling party on August 15 night.
NACF press secretary, Pekingto Y. Zhimomi, stated that lately, the police personnel employed for public safety were often taking laws into their hands which has to be “nibbed from the bud”.
It also said that the latest incident involving Issac and police personnel (Mahila IR) proved the “high handedness, indiscipline, unethical and ill-trained qualities” of Dimapur police.
The release further condemned the police personnel and the authorities concerned for allowing its cadres in East Police Station to “abuse” and to “use unwarranted words against the Sumi tribe” and extended support to the demand put forward by Western Sumi Youth Front.
It further stated that targeting any person on “tribal line” by the “so called law enforcing agencies or whatsoever” was highly intolerable to the NACF and Sumis in general.
VKAYOD: V.K. Area Youth Organization Dimapur (VKAYOD) has condemned the “brutal assault” on Issac Yeptho on August 15 by IRB (Mahila) patrolling party.
Condemning the “inhuman treatment”, the organization’s chairman Vikheshe Shohe and vice chairman Zhekiye Zhimo stated “brutal” act inflicted to a young bonafide citizen by uniformed personnel was “highly barbaric” and condemnable.
The organization appealed to the home minister and DGP Nagaland to immediately “rein-in the incontrollable, galloping, let loose IRB’s in Dimapur before they turn into Frankenstein”.
Meanwhile, VKAYOD thanked Western Sumi Youth Front for taking up the matter with the authority in-charge and hoped the matter would be brought to “its logical end from all responsible authorities”.
