Massive preparation is on for “Chega Gadi/ Langsimnyi” of the Zeliang community which will commence on October 31 at Multi Disciplinary Complex, Jalukie town.
The celebration will be attended by Dr. Chumben Murry, minister agriculture and M.C Konyak, minister forest, environment, ecology, wildlife and excise as chief guests while planning minister T R Zeliang will be the chief host of the one-day event.
The tribal festival cum youth expo 2012 will highlight cultural regale, Miss Peren contest, choreography, music ensemble, ethnic showcase, traditional ballad and several other performances.
Inaugural programme would begin at 10 a.m. while Youth fest cum Miss Peren contest will commence by 4 in the evening.
“12 aspirants will compete for the title of ‘Miss Peren District’ and this time the competition will be tough”, Minkamlak (Jiji) choreographer of the competition said.
