Mon District Health Society (MDHS) conducted one-day child health review cum orientation programme on essential new born care in commemoration of newborn care week under the theme “Improving neonatal health” on November 22 at chief medical officer’s office, Mon. Dr. U. K. Konyak, CMO Mon, delivered on importance of safe delivery, care of new born baby, initiation of breastfeeding within one hour of delivery. He also oriented the participants on immunization and diarrhea.
The programme was attended by medical officers and health personnel from all the blocks. The participants will carry out interpersonal communication (IPC) on essential newborn care in villages under their respective blocks during the observation of newborn care week.
