Walford Area Youth Organisation (WAYO) and Walford Area Council (WAC) have slammed the road and bridges department for the “pathetic” road condition of Walford by-pass road — Old Dhansari Bridge to NH 29.
Stating the road condition was a “testament” to the corruption plaguing the state, WAYO and WAC pointed out that the road was not even “walkable” and was testimony of “unaccountability” in the state.
The organizations further claimed that the road was not repaired for the last ten years by the authorities, yet “work orders” were issued twice, It added that the residents were “unaware” and that money was “fraudulently withdrawn”.
In the “interest of the society”, WAYO and WAC said they have reserved the right to reject any “work order” issued by the department and would not allow work to be carried out unless the department “satisfies” the former by following stringent guidelines and formalities laid down by the department.
