Goching Students’ Union appeals political parties, candidates

Goching Students’ Union (GSU) has urged the political parties and intending candidates under 46 Mon Town assembly constituency not to exercise money power and misguide the innocent public and buy their votes.

In a press release, GSU president M.Noken and general secretary M.Alei said they were saddened that some politicians and agent of political party in the constituency were roaming around with huge amount of money and exercising money power compelling the innocent citizens to sell their votes for money.

This, the union said was mush against the model code of conduct (MCC) and Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and Konyak Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB)’s clean and fair election campaign.

The signatories said such act was creating confusion and fear psychosis among the innocent public and preventing them from exercising their franchise. Further, GSU also appealed to the electors not to fall prey to the trap of money politics but stand firm and choose capable and responsible leader.
