Kyong Murrytsu Ekhung (KME) Headquarters Wokha has vehemently condemned the attack on KME chairman Aremo Murry and his wife on Sunday at his own residence by “miscreants” allegedly supporters of a political party.
In a statement, KME vice chairman Yantso Murry alleged that it was an “attempt to murder” without any rhyme or reason.
According to the statement, the attack was carried out by a group of “miscreants” numbering around 20 persons who came with their faces “covered” at the residence of Aremo Murry located at PWD Colony Wokha Town.
The attackers allegedly hit Murry and his wife with stones and sticks causing “grievous and life threatening injuries.”
KME said it took the incident as serious and urged law enforcing agency to take immediate steps to “arrest and book the miscreants” and punish them in accordance with relevant provision of the law.
KME further warned it would take appropriate “steps or action” in the event of any attack on any of its members in future.
