Phek district excise personnel as part of the clean election campaign conducted raids in several pockets of Phek town, Meluri town and Lanyi check post on February 15 and 16 and seized 396 bottles of assorted IMFLs and 20 numbers of canned beer.
In this connection six persons were arrested and penalized.Further, in Chauzoba and some colonies of Phek town on February 14 excise personnel seized 120 bottles of IMFL and beer and three persons were arrested and penalized in this connection.
Meanwhile, in a separate release, excise department, Mon, recovered 288 bottles of IMFL on February 14 which was lying abandoned in the bushes by the roadside at Mon-Wakching road.
However, no one was arrested in this connection and the consignment has been kept in excise malkhana, Mon. Also, excise department Kiphire on routine duty seized 38 bottles of IMFL (MC) 750 ml each and one case of beer on February 14 at Jail Ward, Kiphire town under the command of Ketosuli Angami, AIE excise and Chokyumong Sangtam HC excise. The seized articles were later confined to excise Malkhana, Kiphire.
