Longsa Village Council (LVC) has refuted the February 20 news report “5 youths held in Mariani” terming the report as totally false and baseless. LVC chairman Lanusungkum (Tatar) and secretary Opanglemba (G.B) stated that the accused youths were not citizens of Longsa village nor have they travelled from the village.
The accused persons, using the name of the village was only to tarnish the image of the village, LVC said. It also resolved to leave no stone unturned to punish the accused. LVC further said it was seriously concerned with the “unauthentic” publication of news without verification.
