Pessao and Changlu village councils have pleaded the state government to immediately initiate construction of an alternative new road (not through Monyakshu but diversion road) from Changlangshu village to Pessao.
In an appeal to the chief minister, PWD (R&B) minister and DUDA advisor, Pessao Village Council (PVC) and Changlu Village Council (CVC) chairmen SP. Chemang and N. Sheyao; head GBs N. Bopai and Langin along with council secretaries MS. Chemang and S. Chungba alleged that Monyakshu villagers have been “checking” on every vehicle headed for Pessao village since the conclusion of the assembly election.
The two village councils also alleged that Monyakshu villagers have “illegally” banned the supply of essential commodities to shops in Pessao since March 8 and even stopped the entry of a vehicle carrying “pigs” hired by some NPF party members on March 15.
The village councils further stated that the PWD main road between Monyakshu and Pessao was totally cut off on March 17.
While appealing for immediate steps for constructing a new road, PVC and CVC have urged the state government to treat the issue as “top priority.”
It may be mentioned on March 14 Monyakshu village council (MVC) has refuted and condemned the claim of Pessao village that Monyakshu village had imposed road blockade against Pessao village.
Calling the allegation as “false and baseless”, MVC secretary S.Wangsha, in a press release, clarified that there was no post-poll tension between Monyakshu and Pessao villages. MVC said the question of blockade hampering other villages under 55 A/C Tobu did not arise.
