Stella Higher Secondary School, Kohima observed it’s fresher’s day at the school’s conference hall Saturday under the theme ‘Scaling New Heights.’
Exhorting the function, Martha Fouts, from Colorado Springs, USA, a well wisher of the school urged the students to follow and heed to the spiritual laws of God as if one turns away from God, it would bring about calamities in one’s lives.
Stating that learning was wonderful, she encouraged the students not to stop learning as this would shape the lives of the students. Urging the students to also strive for excellence, she asked them to let God be their guide and let God tailor their lives in His own designs.
The programme began with an invocation prayer by the proprietor. Class 12 boys presented a special song which was followed by welcome speech by Railu. Speech on behalf of Class 11 was delivered by Dzieseneinuo while special songs were presented by Biki and Itova.
Zuchobeni delivered the vote of thanks and the benediction prayer was delivered by the Principal of the school.
The second session witnessed various performances that included songs, dances and entertaining items by the students.
