Aggrieved Medical Employees Union Wokha (AMEUW) while continuing its “democratic protest” for the fifth day by locking the office of the CMO Wokha has expressed displeasure over the “immature remark” of Nagaland In service Doctors Association (NIDA).
While strongly condemning the bomb blast at the CMO’s residence, AMEUW expressed displeased over NIDA’s statement “functioning of the CMO office is being obstructed by some group, whereas the solution to the present problem is clearly beyond the jurisdiction of the office of CMO Wokha.”
Clarifying that it was not in the interest of AMEUW to stage a protest, AMEUW said it has to do so as they also have children and families to take care.Stating that they were left with no option other than to “starve and beg” AMEUW said it chose to stage ‘democratic protest’ at the CMO office as it was the “legitimate platform” to take their grievances to the government.
AMEUW further said that it does not have the “manpower, resources or competence like the NIDA” to take their matter on a higher level even if that was what they want.
Further, AMEUW exuded hope for a solution from state government at the earliest until then AMEUW said it would continue “peaceful and democratic protest” for the injustice meted to its members.
