In view of the upcoming Nagaland Budget Session beginning July 16, staff and officers of Nagaland Assembly Secretariat led by assembly speaker Chotisuh Sazo carried out a massive social work in and around the assembly complex, Friday.
Over hundred assembly staff and officers including assembly secretary A.E Lotha led by speaker Sazo cleaned the main road starting from the main gate to the assembly complex and legislature’s home, besides clearing weeds and other wild bushes from the site.
“We have still plenty of areas on both the sides of the road leading to the complex and also surrounding the complex where we are planning to plant plum trees,” said Sazo.
He then added that the assembly areas would be soon declared as “green zone” and was also planning to declare the area as “no plastic use zone.”
The speaker, while inspecting the assembly areas during social service, also shared his plan to come up with various developments and facilities for the legislators, officers and staff of the Assembly.
He said the government was contemplating to provide shopping mall, multi-purpose hall and other recreational facilities at the earliest.
Sazo said this was to ensure that the legislators and the assembly officers and staff and their family members would not have to go to town for shopping, which he said was far away from their residential quarters.
Speaker also said that a proposal to establish a school at the assembly complex has been made so that the children of the legislators, officers and staff of the assembly need not worry for their children. Sazo said his main intention was to give them comfortable and peaceful stay in the area.
