One person was killed Monday morning in a hit and run accident at Paramedical colony Kohima. SP Kohima said police recieved the information around 7.30 a.m. from the colony residents.
The victim was identified as Yanpvo Ngullie of Pangti village under Wokha District who was a driver of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC). He said the victim died on the spot.
The accused identified as Khole Mao of Songsong village, who was also a driver of AG Bus staff reportedly fled from the scene after committing the crime but was later arrested with the help of the colony residents.
The police officer also informed that after conducting postmortem, the victim was handed over to relatives and community representatives. The accused is now under police and an investigation is underway.
