High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has decided to organise a seminar on Article 371(A) on November 1,2013 in the High Court premises in Kohima and accordingly, issued a notice inviting all Bar Associations -Nagaland Bar Association (NBA), Kohima Bar Association (KBA), Dimapur Bar Association (DBA), Mokokchung Bar Association (MBA), Wokha Bar Association (WBA) and Zunheboto Bar Association (ZBA) by deputing members to attend the seminar.
HCBA secretary A. Zhimomi, in the notice said the decision to hold the seminar was arrived at the September 16 meeting of the HCBA in the light of recent debates on the scope and ambit of Article 371(A) of the constitution of India.
HCBA said though the Bar is the repository of legal professionals, they have never been invited to place their views on Article 371(A). It also said opinions on the Article have been expressed through the media.
The HCBA secretary further informed, that the Bar will make its views known to appropriate authorities, “ based on the deliberations of the seminar”.
