Women Cell Dimapur and West PS Tuesday handed over the minor (Nepali boy) to the Juvenile Observation Home Pherima Tuesday.
Women Cell handed over the minor to District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), after which he was taken to the Juvenile Observation Home, Pherima.
Earlier, the minor was abducted for questioning on October 4 and released on October 7 evening in connection with theft and robbery committed in the house of an old lady, where he resided.
Police claimed they “rescued” the minor during a rescue operation after which he was sent for mandatory health check up. The minor was then handed over to the custody of Women cell.
Meanwhile, police sources said the lady (house owner) in the case, was yet to be taken for questioning.
It was learnt that police were unable to proceed with the remaining probe process “as she was receiving treatment in a clinic”.
Women cell along with various NGOs went to the widow’s house Monday evening but the woman was not at home.
