ATMAs conduct trainings, demonstration programmes

Cne day training cum demonstration on improved packages and practices on winter vegetables, toria, cabbage and cauliflower etc for Self-Help Group (SHGs) was conducted by agricultural technology management agency under Mangkolemba block at agriculture office, Mangkolemba on October 8.

The programme was chaired by BTT member, Supongtsungba and technical session was conducted by Samuel Sangtam, SMS (agronomy) KVK, Yisemyong and Sunep Walling, agricultural officer stressed on the improved production along with the involvement SHG in the field. 

Altogether 20 members attended the training. Various winter vegetable seeds were distributed to all the SHGs for cultivation.

Meanwhile another field day programme on system of rice intensification under farm school was conducted at Longnak village on October 9 with BTT member Longtang as the resource person. Altogether 25 members attended the training programme.

ATMA WOKHA: Demonstration programme on techniques of growing winter vegetables was conducted by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) on September 14 at Chubi area covering Mekokla and Okotso village.

Demonstration on establishment of nursery, seed bed preparation and methods of sowing various crop seeds with due emphasize on proper field layout and proper spacing was imparted to the farmers.

Also techniques of managing the field crops like right time of planting, carrying out various intercultural operations, post harvest management and pests/disease control was explained to the farmers.

Winter crop seeds like garden pea, knol-khol, onion, coriander and beans were distributed to the farmers.

Earlier, farm school on mixed farming through integration of horticultural crops and fishery farming was established on August 6 at Aree Old village with a total number of 15 farm students including one teacher farmer.

Farm inputs along with maintenance cash was handed over to the group. Simultaneously, capacity building on Horticulture and fishery farming was imparted to the farmers from two villages of Aree Old and Aree New.
 
Fishery inspector Mhomo Murry spoke on management of fishery farming, while PD cum in-charge BTT convenor Yanglen taught the farmers on cultivation practices of citrus and banana.
