A central team from Ministry of Human resource development, led by Vrinda Swrup, additional secretary and Carolyn Deshmuk, director (RMSA) GOI, department of school education and literacy, New Delhi along with state officials visited GSM Khreizephe village Tuesday.
According to VDB secretary, James Vizo and chairman Khreizephe village, Jonah Kemp the visiting team were apprised of the judicious used of the centrally sponsored schemes by the village.
Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) the village received Rs. 15.5 lakh for the construction of GMS building.
However, with the contribution and participation of the village community the RCC building of the school was constructed with a total amount of Rs. 21 lakh, Vizo added.
Village elders also appealed to the visiting central team for construction of a boundary wall for the school compound. It also apprised the visiting team that the village had constructed the computer room but yet to receive the computers from the department.
Meanwhile, council members thanked the visiting team and the staff of education department for inspecting the school. It appealed to the authority to make such frequent surprise visit.
Besides, interacting with the school students with regard to their free school uniforms, Mid-Day meals and textbooks, the visiting team also inspected other facilities such as school infrastructure through provision of additional class rooms, toilets, drinking water, maintenance of grant and school improvement grants.
