Unknown miscreants reportedly fired shots near old medical colony Tuensang town on Wednesday night around 10:30 p.m. Police recovered two.22 empty cases from the spot Thursday morning. However, there was no report of any casualty.
Meanwhile, police said on Thursday at about 12 noon they received report about some armed persons chasing each other below Tuensang Town petrol pump. Subsequently, IR personnel with SDPO and OC PS Tuensang rushed to the spot and recovered one dead body from a nearby jungle with bullet wound to the chest.
The police have identified the deceased as Raja Peyu Changsipong, son of Nasetmongko, age about 35 years, from Chendang village, Tuensang, reportedly NNC (non-Accordist) group.
The body was taken to his native village (Chendang) after completing necessary formality at the civil hospital Tuensang.A case was registered in PS Tuensang.
