
A three-day National Level Vendor Development Programme (NLVDP) cum exhibition (buyers and sellers meet) got underway here with deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso as the chief guest Tuesday. The programme, a first of its kind in Mokokchung, is being organized by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), government of India in association with the district industries centre, Mokokchung and the Mokokchung Chamber of commerce and industries (MCCI). The event is being held at the Multi Purpose Hall, Imkongmeren Sports Complex from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. About thirty micro, small and medium entrepreneurs and SHGs are showcasing their products and services at the expo. Meanwhile, a seminar for the vendors is being scheduled for February 26 beginning 10:30 a.m. at the same venue.
The vision of the National Level Vendor Development Programme is to create an excellent platform for public and private sectors (Buyers & Sellers), and with an objective to create opportunity for diversification and development of new products by entrepreneurs.
It also aims at showcasing the competency of SEMS as well as the needs of large, Central/State Government Departments, Public Sector undertakings, Agro Based Enterprise etc. and enhancing opportunities for marketing and outsourcing.
