
Kuda village Dimapur held the Village Health Nutrition Day (VHND) Saturday at the village health Sub Centre. This is the tenth time VHND was held in the village for the financial year 2013-14. During the programme, all the children were weighed and nutritional foods were distributed in the presence of the GBs and village health committee members. Vaccination for BCG, DPT, JE, Measles, Hepatitis, polio, Tetanus was carried out and also Vitamin A was administered and OPD was also carried out. Around 150 children were attended to in the day. The sub centre has only 4 permanent employees but oversees and covers the whole of Kuda Village, Phaipijang, Toulazouma, Super market and High School area with a total of 4858 household and registered population of 22,216, opined the VHC member present. The VHC member observed that up gradation of the sub centre to a Primary Health Centre (PHC) with a doctor and more staffs was needed The member also noted “this will not only meet the need of the locality but also ease the rush at the District Hospital to some extent.”
