In connection with the parliamentary election 2014 the deputy commissioner & assistant returning officer, Mon Angau I Thou has informed to all that Government officials who have applied for medical exemption from election duty that Medical Board for examination would be held on March 18, 11 a.m. at office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mon. The DC has further directed that all gun license holders are hereby directed to deposit their Arms along with the Arms license to the nearest Police Station till the completion of election. However, as per the decision of the District Level Standing Committee on Parliamentary election locally made Muzzle loading Guns which are part of Konyak culture will be exempted from the purview of the order till April 6 in view of the Konyak Aoleang festival from April 1-6. Use of Muzzle loading guns from the April 7 till the completion of election process is restricted.     
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Phek  C.M. Tsanglao has ordered that in view of maintaining law and order/ peace and public tranquility and for ensuring the holding of free and fair election of the Lok Sabha, all Gun Licenses along with gun, under Phek District shall be impounded as per the following arrangement with effect from the issue of this order: Phek Sadar Area- to be impounded, observing all legal procedures and deposit the licensed gun in the malkhana of Police Station, Phek; Pfutsero Sadar Area-to be impounded, observing all legal procedures and deposit the licensed gun in the malkhana of Police Station, Pfutsero; Chizami Sub-Division-to be impounded, observing all legal procedures and deposit  the licensed Gun in the malkhana of Police Station, Chizami; Chozuba Sub-Division-to be impounded, observing all legal procedures and deposit the licensed Gun in the malkhana of Police Station, Chozuba and Meluri Sub-Division-to be impounded, observing all legal procedures and deposit the  licensed Gun in the malkhana of Police Station, Meluri.
Further, all the fire Arms are to be deposited on or before March 25 with proper receipt. Those persons/individuals found in possessions of any licensed weapons after promulgation of this order shall be subjected to prosecution as per the relevant provision of law and their licensed weapons shall be confiscated. This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain valid till the election is over.
DC Phek has also notified to all concerned that the schedule of training for polling personnel for the conduct of the 16 th Lok Sabha Election 2014 under Phek District shall be as follows: 1st phase of training on March 18 and 19 for all presiding officer and 1st polling officer and for all 2nd & 3rd polling officers respectively at deputy commissioner conference hall, Phek (new building). 2nd phase training on March 28 for all polling personnel to attend the training at their respective ADC Hqs. except for Phek Hq and 3rd phase training on April 5, 9:30 to 4 p.m. for all polling personnel at deputy commissioner conference hall, Phek (New Building). The DC informed that all officers  & staff drafted as polling personnel shall be deemed to be on deputation to the Election Commission of India and accordingly shall be subject to the control, superintendence and discipline of the Election Commission of India till the election process is over. Therefore, all Head of Department under Phek district have been directed to ensure that all Officers and staff who have been drafted as Polling Personnel are informed to attend the Training Programme without fail. It is further informed that attendance of all polling personnel for the training would be strictly monitored and anyone found absent would be seriously deal with and proper action shall be taken under relevant section of the Representation of People Act, 1951. In the event of any polling personnel failing to report to the training, the concerned head of department shall be responsible and any action deemed fit as per election laws shall be initiated against him/her.
AEO Phek informs: Assistant Election Officer Phek has inform to all concerned that district level medical board meeting has been scheduled on March 20, 11 a.m. at the SDO (C) HQ Chamber for exemption from Election Duty on medical ground for the forthcoming  Lok Sabha Election 2014.
