BJP openly embracing communalism and corruption as non issue – NPCC –

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has condemned Nagaland BJP unit for “defending communalism”.
In a statement, NPCC media cell Saturday said that Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and the Naga People’s Front (NPF) failure to respond to questions raised by NPCC on BJP’s communal politics and leaving it to the state BJP unit to rescue the NPF with “flimsy and hilarious explanations” exposes “their true communal colours before the people.”
Vehemently condemning BJP state unit’s statement that “communalism like corruption, is a non issue in contemporary politics,” NPCC pointed out that with Rio joining the communal forces, the state BJP has exposed its narrow political agenda in line with both their high command in Delhi and Nagpur by “openly embracing communalism and corruption” as non issues in contemporary politics.
NPCC media cell said the “atrocious” statement defending communalism and corruption has to be condemned by all as the BJP’s communal politics have caused enough damage to the nation and would disintegrate the nation if allowed to continue.
NPCC also said the accusing the Congress of dragging DAN into a “ceaseless debate over national issues” by the BJP has exposed the “inherent mentality and level of understanding possessed” by party’s state leaders.
The contention that Article 371 (A) was only for “bringing development to Nagaland” portrayed BJP’s complete ignorance of Constitutional safeguards related to religious and social practices, administration of civil and criminal justice involving decisions according to Naga customary law and ownership of land and its resources, the NPCC media cell stated.
NPCC also accused the state BJP unit of trying to parrot on Rio’s behalf devoid of any substance and pointed out that the five core issues of enacting anti conversion laws; building of Ram Temple in Ayodhya; total ban on cow slaughter; Uniform Civil Code and abrogation of Article 370 in J&K have been affirmed time again and again by BJP professing their commitment to implement once voted to power.
NPCC reiterated that Rio and the NPF were answerable to the people of Nagaland for aligning with communal BJP whose ideological patron remains the RSS. The victory of communal forces led by BJP would be detrimental to the interest of Nagas as religious minorities and oppressed castes had no place in their idea of nationhood, said NPCC media cell.
The state BJP in its quest for “limelight” and misplaced hope of sharing the spoils of power has blindly defended their communal masters and agenda.
NPCC further appealed to the people of Nagaland, regardless of party affiliations, to join hands and teach a befitting lesson to the communal forces by out rightly rejecting divisive agenda in the coming parliamentary elections.
