NPF Manipur unit refutes statements of Ibobi, Gaikhangam

Naga People’s Front (NPF), Manipur state unit has flayed the contention of both chief minister Ibobi Singh and deputy chief minister Gaikhangam that NPF was an exclusivist party meant for just one community. In a press release, NPF, Manipur State Unit media and publicity wing said NPF was not just for one particular community but for all communities in the Northeast to fight for the aspirations and rights of the region.
The state unit reminded that it was with this view that North Eastern Regional Parties Front (NERPF) was formed on October 20, 2013 in Guwahati under the initiative of NPF.
Hopeful of wining in both Nagaland and Manipur, the NPF state unit said there were full-fledged existence of NPF divisional units in Churachandpur district with Genlunthang as president and Sadar Hills with L.K. Chongloi as president respectively.  NPF Manipur unit also stated that election committees in all assembly segments in Thoubal district have also been instituted.
The state unit refuting Gaikhangam on developmental issue in the hill areas said the latter’s statement was fraught with “lopsided assessment” of the real ground situation.
The state unit quoted former chief minister Rishang Keishing for possible reasons for the lopsided development in both hills and valley. According to NPF Manipur, Rishang Keishing said “….the Congress party has now grown weaker and shrunk because the party is full of corrupt people and leaders,” on the occasion of celebrating the Congress’ 127 years of existence.
The party unit also expressed happiness that the incumbent Thangso Baite for admitting that he has miserably failed to fulfill and perform the wishes of the people in the past five years as a Member of Parliament.
NPF state unit blamed the the ruling elites of the Congress party for rampant corruption, lack of development, lack of quality education, unemployment, inequality, injustice, human rights violations, etc. in Manipur especially in the hill areas and appealed all to vote for NPF candidate Soso Lorho.
