Ighanumi Village Council (IVC) while condemning the murder of Kuhovi Swu son of Xekiye Swu of Ighanumi allegedly by one Kaito Assumi son of Asapu GB Mukalimi village and proprietor, DBS School, Ghathashi on April 13 at a school compound at Ghasthashi has demanded the law enforcing authority to award “harshest” punishment to accused and meet the demands of the village.
In a press statement by Ighanumi Village Council chairman K Kaito Swu has demanded 40 years rigorous imprisonment to the accused without bail, the school run by the accused should be closed down permanently stating that it would be a threat to the society with the future of many innocent children in the hand of a murderer and to remove co-accused Asapu Assumi, GB, Mukalimi village as GB.
Narrating the incident, Swu said the murder took place within a few feet away from the school building where the body of the victim was found shirtless and bored several “bite marks on the neck, chest, finger tips, elbow and knee joints, backside of the body and other parts of the body” for which the village council do not ruled out the practice of “satanic cult” by the accused.
The statement also stated that upon thorough raid conducted by the youth of Ighanumi village, cases of assorted IMFL were also recovered from the room of the accused proprietor inside the school compound.
Stating that basing on the strength of the findings and taking into account the gravity of the crime committed, the village council concluded that such a person has no place in the society for which it urged the law enforcing agencies to award harshest of punishment to the accused at the same time to meet the demand of the village council failing which it would not be held responsible for any eventualities arising out of the incident in future.
