Women department of Tizu Area Baptist Church Council (TABCC) and Women Welfare Society (WWS) jointly conducted two-day workshop for all the associate pastors (women), self help group leaders, women society representatives on August 6 and 7 in Phek.
During the interactive session, several problems were taken up and resolved to take actions against prevailing discrepancies. The women groups have particularly expressed concern on problem of government schools in villages, which were in deplorable condition coupled with shortage of teachers, irregularities of teachers and negligence by government towards the most under developed villages.
In a press release, WWS president, Wekhro-ü Chüzho, and the chairperson of TABCC women department, Shetalü Medeo, stated that it was decided to ask the VCC and VEC to approach the government to grant the required teachers and also take serious responsibilities towards the proper functions of the school.
The house also resolved to have fellowship with the teachers and share interest as well as visit home of teachers for prayer and give encouragements besides visiting the schools in the village.
Resource persons included Neingupeü Kazhie, Zecheteü Nusory, women secretary, children ministry promoter, project coordinator etc.
Further, the union has expressed the severe grievances due to scanty rainfall as the villagers could not cultivate paddy fields and fearing shortage of food for the year.
