TOLIC stresses on progressive use of Hindi

Second biannual meeting of Dimapur Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) was held on August 8 at Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC & S), under the chairmanship of Commandant of ARTC&S, Shokhuvi, Brigadier K Narayanan.
The chairman, while assessing the progress regarding implementation of Hindi in central government offices in Dimapur, stressed on the importance of progressive use of Hindi.  According to a press release, Brigadier Narayanan exhorted all members to implement the policies issued by the Government of India regarding publicity and implementation of Hindi as official language.
Representative from TOLIC member offices including central government offices, banks and public sector undertakings tabled their progressive reports on the use of official language in their respective offices.
Regional implementation office, Rajbhasha Department Guwahati Research Officer, Badri Yadav, underscored the need to use technology in propagation of Hindi by using unicode and online. He requested all the officers to submit quarterly report regarding official language implementation online so that communication gap amongst the offices and Rajbhasha department would be minimized. The officer also insisted that all efforts would be made to implement official language policy with sincerity.
Also, speaking at the meeting, TOLIC Dimapur secretary Lieutenant, Colonel Praveen Pallath, lauded the efforts of the members for wide publicity of Hindi language. He highlighted the importance of the progressive use of Hindi in central government and Hindi incentives schemes introduced by the government of India in their respective offices
