Failed candidates selected for FHW/ANM, GNM training

Three Female Health Worker (FHW) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) and two General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) candidates who have failed to qualify in the written examinations have been selected for the training on the same disciplines.
According to a representation submitted to the principal director, directorate of health and family welfare, Nagaland by the father a candidate M.N. Lotha, the incongruity was detected from the final results formally declared by the directorate of health and family welfare and published in local dailies.
M.N. Lotha said as per the government advertisement dated May 29, 2014, the written examination for General Nursing and Midwifery/Auxiliary Nurse Midwife was conducted on July 31 and the result of the same was declared on August 3, 2014. The oral interview was held on August 6 for both and the final selection result was declared on August 9, 2014.
Alleging corruption in the selection process, M.N. Lotha said on a close scrutiny, it was found out that candidates who had never qualified in the written examination had been selected.
He pointed out that for GNM, roll no. 238 and 341 did not pass the written examination and so were roll no, 105, 119 and 289 for FHW/ANM training.
M.N. Lotha said on further inquiry from aspirant candidates, it was learnt that many deserving candidates who performed exceedingly well in both the written and oral examination have not been selected.
He alleged that based on these circumstances, the selection board members have indulged in “corruption” which could not stand “test of time”.
M.N. Lotha on behalf of the aspiring candidates and their parents asked the authority to immediately rectify the results and published the results based on merit within a fortnight along with marks obtained in written and oral examinations as well.
He said on failing to rectify the same, the aggrieved candidates/parents had no choice but to seek legal justice.
Along with the representation, M.N. Lotha also attached photo copies of results of both written and oral examinations as published in two local dailies.
The representation has also been forwarded to H&FW minister and H&FW commissioner & secretary for information and necessary action.
